Meals
Days of fasting during the week are the ones prescribed by the Canons of the Ecumenical Councils of the Holy Church: Wednesday and Friday, plus the fasting seasons. Monastics fast also on Monday, and abstain from meat and meat products all the year round.
Meals in monasteries are a formal act of prayer and are usually taken in silence. This requires that each person practice charity. We must always be attentive to the needs of others at the table.
Retreats
If you want to spend a short day or a few days at the monastery for a retreat, please make arrangements ahead of time. Conditions: respect the silence of the place, accept the simplicity of the life, follow the fasting rules of the monks. Men only.
